Through my work I often meet with local businesses and community groups. Time and time again I hear about the struggles of having great ideas, knowing what the community needs, but not having the funds or know-how to kickstart things.
In the landscape of nonprofit and volunteer organisations, the journey to making a positive impact can often feel like navigating a maze of challenges. From securing funding to sustaining programs and initiatives, every step forward requires resources and support. This is where grants emerge as powerful catalysts.
Starting or expanding a business also comes with financial challenges. Securing funding is crucial for turning innovative ideas into reality, and grants can be a valuable source of capital for startups. Unlike loans, grants don’t need to be repaid, making them an attractive option for new businesses.
At any one time in Australia there are over 2000 live grants and even today there are over 90 grants open in Victoria*. There are grants from federal, state and foundations and they are eligible to either not for profits, individuals, schools, local government, businesses and others. Even if you are not eligible you can investigate if you can get auspiced by an eligible organisation such as your local council. I will unpack auspicing in my blog next month.
I research new grants each week and post them on my Facebook page, follow me or sign up to my monthly newsletter to never miss out again.
